When the getting gets going, Reserve Airmen now get some pretty snazzy goodies.

"Get 1 Now," a program that rewards Reservists for bringing people into the Air Force Reserve, has a whole new look.

Flat-screens, iPhones, XM radios, and even Bluetooth-equipped Oakleys are among the many techy toys of today Air Force Reserve Command Recruiting Service is now offering in exchange for referrals. Portable DVD players and iPod Nanos are just one successful referral away.

"The prizes make a statement about how important 'Get 1 Now' is to ensuring we meet our recruiting goals," Master Sgt. Jason Tudor, Recruiting Service spokesman, said.

True to the "Now" nature of the revised program, its driven by a new Web site that lets Airmen participate completely online. It also shows what rewards are up for grabs and what it takes to get them.

With the 931st ARG adding close to 300 Airmen to its Maintenance Squadron in the next few years, Staff Sgt. Jason Sommers, 931st recruiter, said he expects Get 1 Now to play a "very important" part in growing the Group.

"Everybody knows somebody who can benefit from the Air Force Reserve," he said.

And cool prizes are not the only way Get 1 rewards Airmen for referrals. The program also "gives unit members a way to pick their own coworkers," Sergeant Sommers stressed.

The Maintenance and 931st Civil Engineer Squadrons are "really looking for people" right now, Sergeant Sommers said. But the 931st's walk toward becoming a wing means the supporting parts of the 931st will eventually need new people too.

Don't be afraid to "Get 1," or more, who don't want to turn wrenches or construct buildings, Sergeant Sommers said, because he "can probably find a spot for them too."
