MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- 1. What is your official job title?
My job title is aerospace ground equipment craftsman.
2. What is your hometown?
I am an Army brat but I spent most of my life in the middle of Georgia.
3. What is your civilian job?
I am an air reserve technician (ART) at the AGE Flight here at McConnell.
4. Why did I join the 931st ARW?
I was originally an ART in the 116th Air Control Wing, Robins Air Force Base, Ga. My husband was stationed here with 22nd Maintenance Squadron so it made sense to join the 931st ARW and continue my career in the Air Force here in Kansas. I would like to have my CCAF completed by the end of the year.
5. What are your goals (i.e. personal, school)?
Kayaking is one of my hobbies, when the weather is desirable. I also like spending time with family and friends. You also might catch me playing video games from time to time.
6. What's your favorite part of the mission?
I contribute to the mission by providing ground power to the aircraft in order to execute the mission, as well as completing thorough inspections on the ground equipment to ensure the safety of the aircraft and crew. I also acquire hazardous materials that are essential to the equipment to fuel the fight. I am also willing to go out of my career field and help where I can.
7. What's your favorite part of the mission?
My favorite part of the mission is the people and that we are serving a purpose beyond ourselves. We are making sacrifices to a greater good not just a 9 a.m.-5 p.m. job. I also enjoy deploying so I can spend time with other AFSC’s and learn what they do. It helps me understand the bigger picture
