    McConnell Reservist receives Bronze Star

    Lt. Col. Johnathan Jordan, was presented a Bronze Star during an official ceremony here, Feb. 5. Jordan was presented the decoration, the fourth highest military honor, in recognition of his heroic actions after Iran launched 16 missiles at U.S. Forces in Iraq in January 2020.
  • The 931st Air Refueling Wing Angel Tree is up at the 931 ARW Command Suite located in Building 1. Each tag on the tree lists age, gender and local/commuter without their names.     931st ARW adapt ‘Angel Tree’ for COVID-19

    Like most programs of 2020, the 931st Air Refueling Wing Angel had to get creative in the time of COVID-19. Since standing up at McConnell in 1995, the 931st ARW, the Reserve component of Team McConnell, has annually put up a single Christmas tree with paper angels ornaments. The ornaments list the age, gender and other info of 931st ARW members who are in need during the holiday season.

    A few good Airmen: 931st ARW first sergeants

    To most enlisted Airmen, the first sergeant is a special, senior non-commissioned officer position. A first sergeant is supposed to be there to provide a dedicated focal point for all readiness, health, morale, welfare and quality-of-life issues within his or her organization. This is no less true for first sergeants in the Air Force Reserve. They are often on-call and working irregular hours, while also working full-time civilian jobs.
