SecDef Freedom Awards expands nomination timeframe

MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. --  The Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award nomination time frame has been expanded to give reservists more time to nominate their supervisors and employers for this annual award.The nomination period has been extended one month and now runs Oct. 1 to Dec.. 31, 2015.

This award is the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers for their outstanding support of employees serving in the Guard and Reserve. Each year, Guard and Reserve employees, or a family member acting on their behalf, have the opportunity to nominate their employer for the Freedom Award.

Guard and Reserve members can go to the ESGR website at http://www.esgr.mil/Employer-Awards/Patriot-Award/Form.aspx to nominate their employers for the Patriot Award.
