Farewell to Vasi, Team McConnell's BASH Dog for the past nine years. The BASH program, and the implementation of Vasi, in 2007, helped decrease the number of birdstrikes by more than 30 percent. This reduction has saved millions of dollars in aircraft repairs, and most importantly, it has reduced the potential for the loss of life in aircraft mishaps.
ATTENTION TEAM MCCONNELL: For your own safety, PLEASE stay outside of the cordon until the B-47 static is repaired. Thank you.
Fireworks can be dangerous, causing serious burns and eye injuries. Help prevent fireworks-related injuries and deaths by following these safety tips when using fireworks: ■ Never allow young children to play with or ignite fireworks ■ Always have an adult supervise fireworks activities ■ Never place any part of your body over fireworks when lighting the fuse ■ Never try to re-light or pick up fireworks that have not fully ignited ■ Never point or throw fireworks at a person ■ Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose handy in case of fire or other mishap ■ Light fireworks one at a time, then move back quickly ■ Never carry fireworks in a pocket or shoot them off in metal or glass containers ■ After ground-display fireworks complete burning, douse the spent device with plenty of water before discarding to prevent a trash fire ■ Make sure fireworks are legal in your area before buying or using them Following these tips will help you have a safe and enjoyable holiday.
Happy birthday to America's biggest military airplane, the C-5 Galaxy! According to the official Air Force factsheet, The Galaxy is also capable of carrying any of the Army's air-transportable combat equipment, including such bulky items as the 74-ton mobile scissors bridge. It can also carry outsize and oversize cargo over intercontinental ranges and can take off or land in relatively short distances.
With the upcoming holiday week, please keep motorcycle safety in mind. Motorcycle safety starts before getting on the bike. Riders should ensure compliance with local laws and take proper measures to protect themselves while on the open road
On the way...
