Maintenance technicians prepare a B-52 Stratofortress known as “Ghost Rider” for an early-morning taxi test at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona. The test ensured that after sitting idle in storage for almost seven years in the Arizona desert, the aircraft could be safely controlled down the runway. ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The April issue of Citizen Airman is available online. The cover story features a Total Force team that included members of the 307th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron from Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, working to bring a B-52 out of retirement at the Air Force "Boneyard" back into active service. The lead story, by Staff Sgt. Kelly Goonan, focuses on rescue Reservists from Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, engaging in realistic training at a state-of-the-art facility in Georgia.
