22nd ARW Commander announces Frontiers in Flight Air Show

MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan.- It’s time to mark calendars and put eyes to the skies- the McConnell Open House and Air Show is coming Sept. 8-9, 2018.

Today at the Wichita Chamber of Commerce, Col. Joshua Olson, 22nd Air Refueling Wing commander, announced that McConnell will host an open house and air show in 2018.

“We’re calling it ‘Frontiers in Flight,’ paying homage to our past and our future,” said Olson. “We owe it to the city to open our doors and show you all of the great things we’ve been working on.”

This will be the first air show at McConnell in six years.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are the main guests, but more details are to come, so keep an eye out for future updates as the installation prepares for Frontiers in Flight.
