Several members of the Air Force Reserve 931st Air Refueling Group took part in a two-day Operational Readiness Exercise here, July 15-16.

The Total Force exercise featured participation by members of the 931st as well as the active-duty 22nd Air Refueling Wing.  During the exercise, active-duty and Reserve Airmen worked together as a team, displaying the seamless integration of McConnell's Reserve and active-duty components.

The exercise focused on the training and evaluation of wartime readiness skills, including ability to survive and operate (ATSO) training, self-aid buddy care, unexploded ordnance identification, as well as post-attack reconnaissance.

Operational Readiness Exercises are conducted by Air Force units in order to better prepare Airmen to conduct their wartime mission in a deployed environment.  The exercise is also a tool used to evaluate strengths and weaknesses of the deployment system in order to improve the overall wartime readiness of the unit.
