23,000 Kansas deployers since 2001

MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan --  More than 23,000 service members who claim Kansas as their state of legal residence, deployed from Sept. 2001 to April 2013. 

Data released by Air Force Reserve Command Public Affairs, June 10 shows 23,723 Kansas Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen who called have deployed since Sept. 2001.

As of April 30, more than 730 active duty Kansans were deployed, while more than 260 Kansan Reserve force service members were deployed.
 
Active duty and Reserve and Air National Guard Airmen accounted for 167 members deployed at the end of April.
