Pentagon officials reported yesterday that both the active and Reserve components of the U.S. Air Force met or exceeded their recruiting goals for fiscal year 2012 through June.

According to the American Forces Press Service, the Air Force Reserve tallied 6,458 accessions, which is 100% of its goal.

The recruiters of the 931st Air Refueling Group are doing their part to help meet that goal. Master Sgt. Jennifer Tucker, assistant senior recruiter for McConnell and Tinker Air Force Base, said the 931st recruiters have accessed 45 new Airmen so far during fiscal year 2012.

As a combined force, the Tinker/McConnell recruiters have brought in a total of 278 Citizen Airmen during the same time period.

"Our team is doing a tremendous job," said Tucker. "Everyone is working hard and striving to meet both their individual goals and the goals we have set for ourselves as a team."

Tech. Sgt. Nathan Gilroy, a recruiter assigned to the 931st, reported that the unit's Central Recruiting Squadron has reached 100% of its goal as of July 24.

"It's very rewarding to work hard as a team and make our goals," said Gilroy, who is currently at 119% percent of his personal goal for accessions and hopes to finish the year at 131%. "And of course, it's always exciting to be a part of bringing new Airmen into the Air Force Reserve."
