The cadets of Derby High School's Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps had the opportunity to interact with senior leaders of the 931st Air Refueling Group today.

Col. William H. Mason, commander of the 931st, and Chief Master Sgt. Kathleen Lowman, 931st acting group superintendent, visited with cadets and shared insights on the Air Force Reserve, leadership, and careers in the military.

Mason presented the cadets with a unit mission brief and discussed the important role the 931st and the Air Force Reserve play at McConnell and in operations around the world.  Mason also spoke about the important partnership between the active duty 22nd Air Refueling Wing and the Reserve 931st Air Refueling Group at McConnell.

"The strong partnership between the active duty and Reserve components at McConnell is key to mission success," said Mason.

Mason and Lowman also answered questions from cadets on different aspects of the Air Force Reserve, as well as leadership.

"As a leader, the most important attribute is your integrity," said Mason.  "Those you lead must have no doubt that you are an honest person."
