931st Commander issues holiday message Published Dec. 9, 2011 By Col. William H. Mason 931st Air Refueling Group Commander MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- The holiday season is now fully upon us. As this is a time to be spent with close friends and family, I'd like to express my feelings of gratitude to the family of dedicated men and women who make up the 931st Air Refueling Group. You are a committed and skilled team and it is an honor to serve with you. Words cannot express what it means to Stacey and me to be a part of the 931st Air Refueling Group family. Your incredible spirit has already made our first holiday season as members of this unit very special indeed. As you gather with your families and friends in the coming weeks, please remember to thank them for the incredible sacrifices they make that allow us to serve. It is only through the commitment and support of our spouses, children and loved ones that we are able to accomplish our mission. As always, keep safety in mind throughout your holiday travels and activities. Be certain to make a plan before traveling and allow yourself extra time during the holiday rush. Utilize the wingman concept throughout the holiday season. Keep in contact with your wingman and ensure he is safe both physically and emotionally. Look after and take care of each other--that's what being a part of the 931st family is all about. Please take time throughout this holiday season to remember our brave comrades who are serving in harm's way. Keep them in your thoughts as we await their safe return home. Please, safely enjoy the holiday season and the time with your loved ones to its fullest. And once again, thank you for all you do in the service of our great nation. Happy holidays!
