Peasinger 931st Air Refueling Group Public Affairs MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- Members of the 931st Air Refueling Group welcomed members of Boys and Girls Club of South Central Kansas during the unit training assembly, May 14-15. The members received a welcome briefing from Col. Daniel J. Heires, 931st ARG Commander. Following the briefing Staff Sgt. John Duke, a maintainer with the 931st ARG gave the group a tour of a Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker. For many of the members, it was their first time on an Air Force base and a military aircraft . "It's Awesome," said Malik Burnett who toured the aircraft with the group. Burnett, 15, has been a member of the Boys and Girls Club for seven years. Korean Johnson, 17, agreed, "I like it. This is awesome!" Johnson, a junior in high school, has been a member since kindergarten. "The Boys and Girls Club is awesome, it provides a lot of opportunities to see and experience things in the community," he said. The mission of the Boys and Girls Club is to enable all young people, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. They provide young people with one-on-one relationships with caring, adult professionals and fun, age-appropriate, well-rounded programming.
