Senior Airman Brad Enochs didn't just get one; he got four, making him the non-recruiter with the third most 2009 accessions in Air Force Reserve Command.

Airman Enochs is a Reservist assigned to the 931st Air Refueling Group's security forces team. He is also an avid patron and benefactor of "Get 1 Now," an AFRC program that rewards Reservists for bringing people into the Air Force Reserve.

For the four Airmen he referred in fiscal year 2009, Airman Enochs chose an XM radio, Bluetooth-enabled Oakley sunglasses, computer speakers and a deployment bag/shave kit as his rewards. The latter two, he said, exceeded his expectations.

The audio system included five surround-sound speakers and a subwoofer. "They're amazing," Airman Enochs said. "They will rock your house."

The deployment bag came in handy at a time the young Airman was starting a new chapter in his life.

"It's huge," he said. "When my wife and I went on our honeymoon, we fit everything in that bag."

The Get 1 reward system was completely revamped for the start of the 2009 fiscal year. An easy-to-use Web site allows Reservists to refer potential Airmen quickly and conveniently online. An Airman's online account reflects his or her reward eligibility after their referral accesses into the Air Force Reserve.

Reward value increases as accessions increase. Airman Enochs has his eyes on Level 3 of the program, where seven to nine accessions make him eligible for a Samsung HDTV.

"You can get three TVs," he said while surfing the Get 1 site, "there's no limit."

Investing more in Get 1 quickly paid off for AFRC--Get 1 accessions increased 30 percent in FY2009. Referrals were up 80 percent. Tech. Sgt. Jason Sommers, 931st ARG recruiter, said he witnessed a dramatic increase in the Get 1 referrals sent to him with names of potential 931st members.

"Oh yeah, way more," he said. "In my first year (of recruiting), I think I got three."

For Airman Enochs, joining the 931st is an easy sell, especially to his former active-duty co-workers looking for some stability. As a Reservist, he was able to continue full-time work here filling in for active-duty Airmen deployed overseas.

"To be quite honest, I love the Reserve," he said. "Look what I'm doing--I make the same money, I live (and stay) in the local area and I promote easier."

Airman Enochs has a new Get 1 goal for 2010. A TV or two, or three, would be nice, but the sky literally is the limit this year. The reward for AFRC's first place finisher: an incentive ride in the aircraft of the top Airman's choosing. "That's what I'm going for," he said.
