Derby Police Chief Robert Lee was among the those who got an inside peek at operations here Thursday. Lee is the honorary commander of the 931st Mission Support Flight. He and other local civic leaders who were named honorary commander of McConnell units went on an orientation tour hosted by the 22nd Air Refueling Wing, the 931st Air Refueling Group's Regular Air Force host unit here.

The tour included a wing mission brief, a look at base housing and dormitories, a readiness mobility line walk through, and a security forces weapons simulator demonstration. Bobby Gandu, director of undergraduate admissions at Wichita State University, also attended the tour. He is the honorary commander of the 931st Aerospace Medicine Flight.

The 931st Mission Support and Aeropspace Medicine Flights are units within the 931st Air Refueling Group, an Air Force Reserve unit. Lee and Gandu toured McConnell AFB with honorary commanders of the 22nd ARW's Regular Air Force units.
