Media Advisory: Tiahrt to help commemorate growth at McConnell

MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. --  U.S. Representative Todd Tiahrt (R-Goddard) is scheduled to officiate a 931st Air Refueling Group ribbon cutting ceremony here on Oct. 18.

The ceremony will commemorate the stand up of a new 931st ARG aircraft maintenance complex, 931st Maintenance Squadron and 931st Maintenance Operations Flight. A short intermission will immediately follow before new commanders take charge of the squadron and flight during an assumption of command ceremony.

Funds secured by Rep. Tiahrt greatly helped the 931st ARG, an Air Force Reserve unit here, add personnel and resources needed to fulfill its critical aerial refueling mission and support the 22nd Air Refueling Wing, the 931st's Regular Air Force host unit at McConnell AFB.

The ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Also officiating will be Col. Edsel "Archie" Frye Jr., commander of the 931st ARG.
