Lt. Col. John Wood, a Reserve KC-135 pilot assigned to the 931st Air Refueling Group, was one of the first "Team McConnell" Airmen to appear in a series of RODEO 2009 reports on KAKE TV in Wichita, Kan.

KAKE reporter Chris Frank went to McChord AFB, Wash., to cover a blended team of Reservists and active-duty Airmen representing McConnell at the biennial international competition. Colonel Wood is featured in the first installment of "Wichita vs. The World," Mr. Frank's daily series from McChord that has been showing during his station's 10 p.m. broadcasts and are available at KAKE's Web site.

Interviews with Airmen from the 931st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron were featured during a later installment, as were stories about a McConnell security forces team that includes the 931st's Senior Airman Nathan Shelley.

RODEO 2009 was scheduled to conclude Friday with awards presentations and a closing ceremony. Air Force videos, articles and photos related to the well-publicized event can be seen at Air Mobility Command's Web site
