Airmen should have received, activated new travel cards Published Oct. 7, 2008 MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- The Defense Department's current Government Travel Charge Card contract with Bank of America is ending soon and all government travel cardholders have been sent new cards from Citi®, the new SmartPay® 2 vendor. The new travel cards will be ready for use on Nov. 30, after the current cards issued by Bank of America expire on Nov. 29 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. All cardholders need to verify receipt of their new cards to ensure the cards will be ready for use on Nov. 30. As part of the receipt verification process, cardholders are asked to accept the Cardholder Agreement Terms and Conditions. Cardholders must agree to the Terms and Conditions in order to use the new cards. Members of the 931st Air Refueling Group who have not received a new travel card should notify the Group Finance Office immediately at 316-759-3657. Having an outdated address on file could prevent a Group member from receiving the new card. Traveling during the cutover Cardholders traveling during the cutover (Nov. 29-30) should charge all official travel expenses up to, and including, Nov. 29, on their current Bank of America card. Travel expenses incurred from 12:00 a.m. EST on Nov. 30 should be charged to the new Citi GTCC. What to expect Since the new card will also be VISA branded, cardholders will have the same worldwide charging privileges that they currently have. Charge limits will remain the same and the 931st Finance Office will have the authority to raise limits to meet mission requirements. The Finance Office is the primary contact for transition information. Cardholders with a Bank of America GTCC credit balance should call the phone number on the back of the card to request a refund. -After the cutover, Bank of America will continue to accept and receive payments for charges previously made on its cards.
