West gate construction scheduled to begin

MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- Team McConnell, the west gate, located off George Washington Blvd. South, will be under construction Dec. 14-18.  This will cause inbound traffic to divert from typical traffic patterns. Normally, personal and commercial vehicles go through the gate using either of the open two lanes. During construction, POVs will detour into one lane, while commercial vehicles will use the other lane.  This is important to remember during the peak traffic hours of 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m., and 4:30-5 p.m.
