931st Air Refueling Group named Air Force Outstanding Unit Published Oct. 15, 2015 By Tech. Sgt. Abigail Klein 931st Air Refueling Group Public Affairs MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- The Air Force Reserve 931st Air Refueling Group here was announced as a recipient the 2014 Air Force Oustanding Unit Award and and Air Force Organziational Excellence Award in an official memorandum from Lt. Gen. James Jackson, Air Force Reserve Command commander, Oct. 6, 2015. The 931st was selected along with 12 other Air Force Reserve units. In addition to being selected as the first Reserve unit to fly and maintain the new KC-46 Pegasus tanker, the 931 ARG achieved a wide variety of accomplishments during 2014. These accomplishments include partnering with McConnell's active duty 22nd Air Refueling Wing to fly a total of 30,725 hours, ultimately accounting for 49 percent of Air Mobility Command's KC-135 Stratotanker hours. The 931st also achieved 1,070 local and off-station sorties, culminating in over 3,600 flight hours and exceeding the command's annual flying hour program goal for the second consecutive year. Upon receiving the announcement. Col. Mark S. Larson, 931 ARG commander, took time to thank the members of the 931 ARG. "Our unit truly has some of the best and brightest Airmen and I happy to see them recognized for their outstanding service to our country," he said. "I am honored to serve along with them."
