931st Commander's Labor Day safety message Published Aug. 28, 2013 By Col. Mark S. Larson 931st Air Refueling Group Commander MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- As we approach the Labor Day holiday weekend that marks the unofficial end of summer, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for doing your part to contribute to an extraordinarily safe Critical Days of Summer for the 931st Air Refueling Group. As a result of your focus on risk management and making wise decisions, we as a Group have sustained zero reportable safety mishaps this summer. This statistic is a tribute to the fact that our Airmen make it a habit to keep safety at the forefront during summer activities. Now that we are on the homestretch of the Critical Days of Summer, I want to encourage each of you to continue to make safety a top priority as you enjoy the holiday weekend with your family and friends. Whether you plan on heading to the lake, having a cookout, or simply spending some time at home, enjoy the holiday and relax while keeping safety in mind at all times. I know many of you will be traveling over the weekend. Remember to take the proper precautions to stay safe on the roads. If you choose to drink, make sure you have a wingman standing by to ensure you arrive home safely. I urge you all to make sound decisions, look out for each other, and be good wingmen. As always, thank you for all you do to serve. I wish you all a very safe and very happy Labor Day.
