Edsel "Archie" Frye, 931st Air Refueling Group commander, with encouragement from the Wichita Thunder mascot "Thunderdog", drops the ceremonial puck as Amarillo Gorilla center Gordon Bell-left, and Wichita Thunder alternate captain Kevin Cooper prepare to duel for the opening possession betwen the two teams on March 12 . The Air Force Reserve Central Recruiting Squadron recently sponsored multiple events with the Wichita Thunder. The Gorillas revenged a loss from the previous night by defeating the Thunder 6-0.
