931 SF Run With Special Olympic Torch

Members of the 931st Security Forces assisted the ‘ Kansas Torch Run for Special Olympics’ on June 2. The run began in Derby, Kan. with the Derby Police Department running the torch up Rock Road to the intersection of 63rd Street. The 931 SF took over and ran the torch all the way to McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. where the torch was ran through the base and passed off to the Wichita Police Department at the back gate. Wichita Police then ran the torch to Wichita State University for the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics. Staff Sgt. Tyrel Askren, 931st SF, coordinated the 931st ARG involvement in the event.
