Calhoun's New Captains

Troy Calhoun, head football coach at the Air Force Academy, promotes Phil Shapiro and Alecia Fogerty to the rank of Captain during a late-night impromptu ceremony on a flightline in Iraq. Both officers are Air Force C-130 Hercule pilots who flew Calhoun and six other NCAA football coaches to visit troops in Bagdad, Iraq, on June 1. The visit was part of Coaches Tour 2009, a second annual morale-boosting mission organized by Morale Entertainment, LLC., in association with Armed Forces Entertainment. Calhoun had the authority to promote the captains as a former academy graduate and Air Force officer. Capt. Eric Junkins, a KC-135 pilot assigned to the 931st Air Refueling Group, was part of the crew that flew the coaches from the United States. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Jason Schaap)
