Recon Refueling

A RC-135 aircraft assigned to Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., is refueled by a KC-135 Stratotanker operated by Reservists from the 931st Air Refueling Group, McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., June 18, 2014. The RC-135 is a reconnaissance aircraft and supports theater and national level consumers with near real-time on-scene intelligence collection, analysis and dissemination capabilities. The KC-135 Stratotanker provides the core aerial refueling capability for the United States Air Force and has excelled in this role for more than 50 years.
