Extended Reach

A B-1B Lancer assigned to Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, is refueled by a KC-135 Stratotanker assigned McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., during an air refueling training exercise, June 13, 2014. The KC-135 was operated by an air crew made up of members of the Air Force Reserve 931st Air Refueling Group. Aircrew members from the 931 ARG regularly perform air refueling training in order to practice air refueling techniques and maintain proficiency. Air refueling serves to extend presence, increase range and is a force multiplier for U.S. and allied nation aircraft, and is key to the global reach capabilities of the U.S. Air Force.
