The air refueling boom of a McConnell Air Force Base KC-135 Stratotanker extends toward a receiving aircraft during an air refueling training exercise, July 11, 2015. The exercise was part of receiver/tanker training being performed by members of the Air Force Reserve 18th Air Refueling Squadron at McConnell. This training ensures pilots in the squadron are qualified to serve as both refueling and receiving aircraft during missions, and is essential for the eventual transition to the new KC-46A Pegasus tanker at McConnell.
