For more than forty years, native Kansans have gathered every spring to celebrate community pride and fellowship. The celebration, known by many names over the decades, has evolved into family fun, music, entertainment and food known today as the Wichita River Festival. More than 30 Airmen from Team McConnell participated in the Sundown Parade to help kick off Wichita's 2016 Riverfest celebration on June 3.

A KC-46A Pegasus taxis on the flightline May 17, 2019, at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. This is the sixth KC-46 to be delivered to McConnell. The aircraft will provide aerial refueling to Air Force, joint and partner nation aircraft. McConnell is expected to receive 18 tankers in the first round of deliveries and will end up with a fleet of 36.

The 905 ARS was the first Air Force flying unit to be assigned to Grand Forks, and it received its first KC-135 Stratotanker in 1960. The unit stayed at Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D., until it was deactivated in 2010.
