A KC-46A Pegasus piloted by members or 905th Air Refueling Squadron lands on the fligthline Oct. 3, 2020, at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. This was the inaugural 905th ARS flight at McConnell. The 905th ARS is one of three Reserve air refueling squadrons here. The squadron reactivated at McConnell after a ten-year hiatus in May 2019.
Lt. Col. Glenn Clark, 905th ARS director of operations and KC-46A Pegasus pilot, performs aerial refueling Oct. 3, 2020, at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. Glenn was co-pilot during the inaugural flight for the 905th ARS. The 905th ARS reactivated at McConnell in May 2019. The 905 ARS was the first Air Force flying unit to be assigned to Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D, and it received its first KC-135 Stratotanker in 1960. The unit stayed at Grand Forks until it deactivated in 2010.

The week-long exercise included 15 Airmen from the 22nd and 931st Maintenance Squadrons. This was the first time this type of training was performed with the KC-46.

The exercise took place at Hangar 1126, and included a simulation of a collapsed nose landing gear of a KC-46 aircraft for the joint Crashed, Damaged or Disabled Aircraft Recovery, or CDDAR, program.

The training was part of a week-long CDDAR exercise that involved 15 members from the 22nd and 931st Maintenance Squadrons. The lifting bags are placed on top of a makeshift platfrom of railroad ties and plywood sheets, and under the wing of damaged aircraft secure it prior to beginning maintenance repairs
