McConnell Reservists strengthen Resilience

The event was part of the Air Force's Resilience Tactical Pause. According to the Air Force Resiliency website, for the last five years, suicide has been the leading cause of death among Airmen. KANZA warriors deliver first KC-46 to Pease
A crew chief assigned to the 157th Air Refueling Wing marshalls in the new KC-46A Pegasus on Aug. 8, 2019, at Pease Air National Guard Base, N.H. The plane is the most modern aerial refueler in the U.S. Air Force inventory. ALS graduates Class 19-F
Congratulations to Senior Airman Adrienne Thompson, who completed Airman Leadership School Aug. 22, 2019, at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. Thompson was one of two Reservists in the class. ALS is a 24 duty day United States Air Force program designed to develop Airmen into effective front-line supervisors. It is the first professional military education that enlisted Air Force members encounter. Upon completion of ALS, the graduate receives the ability to write performance reports on subordinates. This allows the graduate the ability to supervise regardless if he or she currently holds the rank of Staff Sergeant. Airman Leadership School covers Combat Leader, Military Professional, Supervisor of Airmen, verbal and written communication, and group dynamics. A majority of the instruction focuses around various Air Force rules and regulations. Reservists can complete the course in-residence or through correspondence. (Courtesy photo)

McConnell Reservists find ‘New Horizons’ in Guyana
A local Guyanese boy, cuts the ribbon for the newly constructed Blueberry Hill’s community center during New Horizons training exercise 2019 closing ceremony in Linden, Guyana, Aug. 22, 2019. The New Horizons exercise 2019 provided U.S. military members an opportunity to train for an overseas deployment and the logistical requirements it entails. The exercise promoted bilateral cooperation by providing opportunities for U.S. and partner nation military engineers, medical personnel and support staff to work and train side by side. Ready for the pre-flight
(Left to right) Master Sgt. Jesse Fuller, 931st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, and Lt. Col. Joseph Oline, 931st Operations Support Squadron Scheduling chief and KC-135 Stratotanker pilot, perform a pre-flight check Aug. 3, 2019, at McConnell Air Force Base. The inspection being performed on a KC-135 is accomplished on a regular schedule in order keep the aircraft mission ready. The KC-135 Stratotanker provides the core aerial refueling capability for the United States Air Force and has excelled in this role for more than 60 years. This unique asset enhances the Air Force's capability to accomplish its primary mission of global reach. It also provides aerial refueling support to Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and allied nation aircraft. The KC-135 is also capable of transporting litter and ambulatory patients using patient support pallets during aeromedical evacuations. This KC-135 flight included ten civilian employers of 931st Air Refueling Wing Airmen received a first-hand look at how their Reservist employees support strategic reach during a "Bosslift" sponsored by the local Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).
