A pilot for the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Air Demonstration Squadron, flys away from the boom of a KC-135 Stratotanker operated by an aircrew from the 931st Air Refueling Wing, Nov. 2, 2017. The aircrew performed multiple refuelings in to help the team make a non-stop, long-distance flight to Joint Base San Antonio, Texas. Team McConnell, local leaders celebrate completion of KC-46 MILCON Projects
Team McConnell and local leadership gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of the $267 million construction projects for the new aircraft. The construction originally began in 2014, and included three new hangars built to create six total bays to accommodate the KC-46A and other Air Mobility Command aircraft.
