TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Staff Sgt. Norman Williams checks the ID card of Zach Harlow before he is allowed to access "Base X." Williams is assigned to the 752nd Computer Systems Squadron, and Zach is the son of Senior Master Sgt. Mike and Dorothy Harlow from the 963rd Airborne Air Control Squadron here. Zach and other children of airmen assigned here participated in Operation KUDOS, designed to help "Kids Understand Deployment Operations." They received briefings, processed through a deployment line, received ID cards and dog tags. Lt. Col. Tsuyoshi Tung makes a late night run to pick up food for his crew at a local eating establishment recommended to his air crew near Andrews Air Force Base, Md. Colonel Tung led an eight Reservists from the 931st Air Refueling Group stopped at Andrews AFB during a 12-day aeromedical evacuation mission into Afghanistan. Air Force crews sometimes have to find restaurants open late when they fly into bases after normal working hours.
