Ten civilian employers of 931st Air Refueling Wing Airmen pose for a photo before boarding a KC-135 Stratotanker during a "Bosslift" sponsored by the local Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) here, Aug. 3, 2019, McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. According to the official ESGR website, the purpose of ESGR is to educate supervisors and managers of traditional Reservists and develop a greater appreciation for the service of citizen Airmen. The focus of the organization is to promote an understanding of both the National Guard and Reserve as well as encourage support of employers in development of human resource policies and practices that support an employee's participation in the military. Ready for the pre-flight
(Left to right) Master Sgt. Jesse Fuller, 931st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, and Lt. Col. Joseph Oline, 931st Operations Support Squadron Scheduling chief and KC-135 Stratotanker pilot, perform a pre-flight check Aug. 3, 2019, at McConnell Air Force Base. The inspection being performed on a KC-135 is accomplished on a regular schedule in order keep the aircraft mission ready. The KC-135 Stratotanker provides the core aerial refueling capability for the United States Air Force and has excelled in this role for more than 60 years. This unique asset enhances the Air Force's capability to accomplish its primary mission of global reach. It also provides aerial refueling support to Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and allied nation aircraft. The KC-135 is also capable of transporting litter and ambulatory patients using patient support pallets during aeromedical evacuations. This KC-135 flight included ten civilian employers of 931st Air Refueling Wing Airmen received a first-hand look at how their Reservist employees support strategic reach during a "Bosslift" sponsored by the local Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). Reserve Citizen Airmen build medical and dental clinic in West Virginia
Members of the 931st Civil Engineer Squadron work on the Valley Healthcare Medical and Dental Clinic, June 14, 2019, Talbotton, Ga. The decision to assist the community was made in April by Senior Master Sgt. Howie Burns, who found out about the project after contacting the Department of Defense’s Innovative Readiness Training Program Manager. The IRT is a DoD program designed to help communities in need. Its main goal is to allow servicemembers future deployment training through assisting communities in need with infrastructure, healthcare, transportation, veterinary care and cybersecurity.
