Lt. Col. James Wohlwend (on right) was the new Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps commander and Master Sgt. William Souder was a senior at Derby High School when these yearbook photos were taken in 1991. Sergeant Souder had his senior yearbook with him during a recent reunion with his former commander at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan.

17 Years Later
Master Sgt. William Souder and Lt. Col. James Wohlwend look at a high school yearbook printed in 1991. Colonel Wohlwend was Sergeant Souder's Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps commander at Derby High School in Derby, Kan. The colonel is still commander at the school and Sergeant Souder is now a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning supervisor assigned to the 931st Civil Engineer Squadron. The two reunited 17 years after Sergeant Souder graduated from Derby when some of Colonel Wohlwend's cadets visited McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., on Oct. 30.
