McConnell Reserve unit meets 'bosses'
Ten civilian employers of 931st Air Refueling Wing Airmen pose for a photo before boarding a KC-135 Stratotanker during a "Bosslift" sponsored by the local Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) here, Aug. 3, 2019, McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. According to the official ESGR website, the purpose of ESGR is to educate supervisors and managers of traditional Reservists and develop a greater appreciation for the service of citizen Airmen. The focus of the organization is to promote an understanding of both the National Guard and Reserve as well as encourage support of employers in development of human resource policies and practices that support an employee's participation in the military. McConnell Reserve Unit Reactivates 905 ARS
Col. Phil Heseltine, 931st Air Refueling Wing commander, hands the guidon to Lt. Col. Eric Rivero, the incoming 905th Air Refueling Squadron commander, during an official ceremony, May 4, 2019, McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. Previously, the 905 ARS was the first Air Force flying unit to be assigned to Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D, and it received its first KC-135 Stratotanker in 1960. McConnell is holding the KC-46 during Hurricane Isaias. Relocating military aircraft is a measure performed prior to possible adverse weather conditions. McConnell Reservist recevies Bronze Star
Lt. Col. Johnathan Jordan received the Bronze Star during an official ceremony Feb. 5, 2021, at McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas. Jordan was presented the decoration, the fourth highest military honor, in recognition of his heroic actions after Iran launched 16 missiles at U.S. Forces in Iraq in January 2020.
