McConnell Chapel construction continues
Despite climbing temperatures, workers continue the renovation of the base chapel June 11, 2015, at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. Last January, the chapel moved from Building 510 to a variety of locations on the installation. During the renovation, the chapel's heating, ventilation, and air condition system are being replaced. Kleespie assumes command
Col. Mark S. Larson, Commander of the 931st Air Refueling Group, presents the 18th Air Refueling Squadron guidon to Lt. Col. Michael Kleespie during a change of command ceremony at the Robert J. Dole Community Center, McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., June 7, 2015. Kleespie assumed command of the 18 ARS, replacing outgoing 18 ARS commander, Lt. Col. Eric Vitosh, who will be taking an assignment with First Air Force National Security Emergency Preparedness Directorate as a liaison to the state of Kansas with the Reserve Individual Mobilization Augmentee Program. Kleespie is a command pilot with more than 12,000 combined military and civilian flying hours. He now takes over command of the second largest tanker squadron in Air Force Reserve Command. Fini Flight
Lt. Col. Eric Vitosh, 18th Air Refueling Squadron Commander, poses with his family on the flightline at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., after completing "Fini Flight" with the 18 ARS, having flown his final mission as a member of the unit. Vitosh assumed command of the 18 ARS in May 2012. He began his enlisted career in 1987 and was accepted into the Air Force Academy in 1988 as part of the Enlisted Airman Development Program. Following his graduation from the Air Force Academy in 1993, he began Air Force Pilot Training and graduated in 1994. Vitosh served in a variety of capacities during an active duty career that spanned more than a decade. In 2002, he joined the Air Force Reserve as a member of the 18th Air Refueling Squadron at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan.
